Dr. Richard J. Madonna is Professor and Chair of the Department of Clinical Education and Director of the Office of Continuing Professional Education at the SUNY College of Optometry. Clinically, his practice at the College’s University Eye Center is limited to glaucoma. He lectures nationally and internationally on glaucoma and ophthalmic imaging. Among many professional activities, he currently serves as Vice President of the Optometric Glaucoma Society, the Board of Directors of the American Optometric Foundation, the ASCO Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice Committee and as optometry's representative to the National Quality Forum's Eye Care and Ear, Nose and Throat Standing Committee. He has received a number of awards, most recently the American Academy of Optometry’s 2017 Vincent Ellerbrock Clinician-Educator Award.
